Facebook IPO

David Choe

Man, this Facebook IPO is going to be making some people a lot of bank. Check out this Times article here: From Founders to Decorators, Facebook Riches. The guy pictured above is David Choe, a graffiti artist who painted the walls of Facebook’s first headquarters. For Mr. Choe’s artistic services, Sean Parker offered to pay him either thousands of dollars or Facebook stock. Choe took stock instead of money. His stock is expected to be worth upwards of $200 million after the IPO.

Threshold Earners

David Brooks came out with Part II of his Sidney Awards.  Check it out here.  I’ve only read one essay so far, but it’s good.  Check out Tyler Cowen’s essay on the wealth and income inequality in America, and why it’s here to stay.

I have to say that this is probably the best essay on the wealth/income inequality that I’ve read.

The Happy Post

(Corny but happy and cute video above.)

Thanks everyone, for your contributions to the Building Subcultures and Accepting Emotions thread.  Please keep on adding…the conversation is great, and I’m reading every comment, even if I’m not participating as much as I’d like to.  We’re coming upon our two year anniversary, and bigWOWO has just moved to Peachyhost, a company run by my friend Zach and his friend Keith.  I just paid my big ol’ hosting bill for the next two years.  Some bloggers kvetch about paying bills and stuff–I’m no different, I complain till the cows come home…but as long as some of you are benefiting, it’s totally worth the cost.  I can’t promise that this blog is totally recession proof or boredom proof, but it looks like we’ve got at least two more years of time paid upfront.
