Rich Cho at the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce

Since I rarely get out of the house outside of work hours, I should post a picture whenever I do.  Rich Cho, the general manager of the Portland Trailblazers, spoke at the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce tonight, and I was there.

Man, the guy is really humble, really friendly, and an all around nice guy.  He’s very soft-spoken, which I didn’t expect from someone in his position.  He said that he was excited about speaking because he has always been proud of his Asian heritage.  It’s nice hearing someone say this.

Rich Cho

Aight, I’ve been called on neglecting to post this: Paul Allen just hired Rich Cho as general manager of the Portland Trailblazers.  He is the first full Asian general manager in NBA history, and he’s a native from the Pacific Northwest.  It’s cool because, well, he’s the man in charge.  He’s also got the Asian street cred:

With a law degree and also a background in engineering, Cho has gained a reputation for his expertise with the salary cap and the collective bargaining agreement. He also has scouting experience.
