Slash teaches guitar to kids

I found the video above on CNN. Pretty cool stuff. It looks like Slash is using his post-GNR days to inspire kids with his talent. I was impressed with his love of music and what he had to say about it: “[Music] is just as important as math or English or history.” I agree with that. If you google “Confucius” and “music,” you will see that music played an extremely important part of traditional Asian culture. It was considered a necessary subject for educated people. It’s only in the modern age that Asian and Asian American people became preoccupied with math, science, and subjects that deal with hard reality. I think it’s time for a renaissance.

Mr. Miyagi's Theater Company

I saw this cute couple in the NY Times wedding announcements.  It’s apparently a hapa Asian woman with an Asian guy, and apparently, they’re both actors.  That never happens!  (at least not that I’ve seen)  Anyway, congrats to them on their marriage.  Congrats to them on taking on a difficult job and representing.

Even though I post on this stuff all the time, however, my real interest in the article was where they work.  According to the Times;

The couple, as well as Mr. Kim, are members of Mr. Miyagi’s Theater Company, which is in Manhattan, and all of them performed in “Sides: The Fear is Real.”
