Racist tweets against pop singer’s Asian boyfriend

ku-xlarge

Yikes. Someone claimed–though there’s absolutely no record of it–that a pop singer named Lorde called Bieber and some other pop group “ugly.” Now Lorde’s boyfriend, who happens to be Asian, has become the target of racial vitriol. Check it out here. It’s all over the place–comparisons to Mao Tse-Tung, penis jokes, “ching chong” comments, you name it. It’s sad, but that’s gotta take a toll on a relationship. It’s really unfortunate, especially since it doesn’t look like Lorde did anything to provoke this racist outrage.

  1. Its worth noting that young white females are typically among the worst when absolute shitting on AMWF couples and how they ostracize their own who do date AMs. Are they really any better than the AFs who shit talk AMs?

Its one thing for an AM to be open to dating white females, nothing wrong with that, its quite another to be naturally attracted to essentially the identical twin sisters of racist white dudes who you don’t get to punch in the face.

  2. Al.

If she was dating a better looking Asian dude such as Sengge Richie Rich, then there wouldn’t be an onslaught of negative comments about him from other White girls.

    From that article:

Most of the tweets simply call Lowe ugly and/or express bewilderment at the coupling—Lowe and Lorde, it seems, don’t “match” …

  3. Sort of good news and bad news. Yes, there seems to be a trend of average and below average Asian guys dating WFs who are better looking than them. It might provoke a negative reaction because of it. So Pozhal is wrong that Asian men shortchange themselves when it comes to IR.

  4. @ Chr:
Unless her boyfriend was super super good-looking, it would still be a talking point because many women just don’t even think of dating an Asian guy as a possibility. You can pick that up from some of these tweets and their whole “WTF? He looks Asian” mentality.
The interesting thing here is that Lorde herself is fairly average looking. She’s someone who is a star because of her talent, rather than her looks. So it’s odd that it doesn’t occur to anyone that she might choose her boyfriend on criteria other than what he looks like (or that her idea of what’s good looking might be different to what the average Bieber/One Direction fan thinks).

But in truth it makes a lot of sense because to the average teenybopper fan, a star’s physical attractiveness is inseparable from their talent. There aren’t exactly a whole host of ugly teen pop stars out there. One Direction, Justin Bieber, etc are all reasonably good singers and performers, but if they weren’t conventionally good looking then we would never have heard of them. So teen pop fans just can’t fathom that someone in the pop world has anything worth offering if they aren’t “hot”.

We gotta remember how riddled with anxieties about their appearance teenage girls are, even the hot ones. By insulting others about their looks, they can position themselves as being a little higher on the beauty hierarchy than someone else. It’s classic schoolyard bullying mentality.

  5. It might be for years to come. But I still maintain my belief that

    – Kids say the darnest things until they hit the teen ages.
    – Teenagers perpetuate the stereotypes.
    – Adults hold on to the perceived stereotypes and live on.
    – Mature one try to break the stereotypes and buck the system, shine the lights for others to follow the path.

The problem is their lights have been fleeting and all those clouds of stereotype again kicks in every time teenagers at home searched online “Asian stereotypes” and small dick stick their minds. They know how to wield that magic spell and cast every time they wanted to kick down “Asianess”.

    Where is The Brah?
I dare say, even the most reasonable, out-of-the-box thinker like Brah, our brotherly compatriot who once suggested Asian men to start hitting on Black girls to offset IR disparity, would enjoy “small dicks” jokes at the expense of building up virtual wall against Asian men approaching White girls. Well, in fairness, all guys except Asian guys must have enjoy “small dicks” jokes at least once in a while. Why not? Even I myself Asian enjoy “small dicks” jokes some times.

Isn’t it nice to hear once in blue moon about “small dicks” joke?
After all, being small dick is something unique about the dicks, isn’t it?
Asian and “small dicks” are comparable, except
    – Whites and “master of slavery”
    – Blacks and “Slavery”

Oh last, went to see “12 Years a slave” last week, and Hey, quite a few White audience turnout. Saw a few Black females left due to disturbing scenes.

I’m sure that our future kids will learn from that movie, teenagers will behave, and adults will communicate with mutual understanding. Hey if they don’t, we’re gonna kill billions of people and send our B-52 bombers. Why not!

  6. ES,

There is that automatic Pavlovian association when a non-Asian women sees an Asian guy, that somehow he is of a lower social value, often because of his physical features. Women usually don’t associate Asian men as being attractive or sexy.

  7. her bf really isn’t attractive. by no means is he remotely masculine, not to mention hipsters are overtly feminine to begin with.

  8. @ Asianguy:

Why do you feel compelled to point that out, are you a One Direction fan too? He’s obviously got something going for him, since he managed to land a pop star.
Maybe he has a nice personality. I’ve heard rumours that some people are attracted by such things.

  9. Why are there so many Asian guys here obsessed with how other men look like? Is this a Western thing that I am failing to appreciate as an Asian man? There are other manly qualities that does not necessarily include looking pretty that some women might find attractive.

If it were for the pretty female Asian men obsessed with their looks, the Asian population would never have crossed the billion mark.

  10. eurasian,

i mentiond her bf isn’t that attractive because if he was actually attractive or more normal, i.e. steven yeun, then there wouldn’t be as many insults about his attractiveness. right now the insults are a combination of race related and “ugliness”. i say the “ugliness” is the main factor of insults which ignorant people assume to be a factor of him being asian.

hypothetically if Lorde was dating steven yeun, john cho, i highly doubt there’d be that many asian insults about her boyfriend.

  11. He’s not even ugly, to be honest. Just average looking. If you met him in person, without all the accompanying baggage of him being a popstar’s boyfriend, I doubt he would be described as ugly, maybe just nondescript. The world of showbiz is just so superficial that since we don’t know what these people are actually like, we are fixated on their looks, and he looks like an average joe as opposed to a celebrity.

If she dated Stephen Yeun or John Cho, there’d be less “ugly” comments, but the “small dick” comments would still be out in force. And there would still be general befuddlement as to why she would choose an Asian guy. I mean, Cho or Yeun are decent looking, but why date them when there are plenty of decent looking white men out there?

  12. @ES,

This is all sounding like the racist Dutch talent show debate. Then also some female Asian men were blaming the victim for being “ugly”, poorly dressed and so on. Kudos to you for trying to explain racism to some who should know better. I salute your patience.

  13. Here is a thought. Did it occur to the haters that the fact the guy is average looking non-clebrity it might be that he has a great personality, and confidence that comes from being very well endowed … better than some of the pinked nippled tiny winy dicked White men.

  14. Typical teeny bopper fan rage and bullying, which is disturbing enough, but they had to top it off with racism. Way to go, “beliebers.”

Kinda interesting and sad that the insults on looks only went to him, at least in the screenshot here, and he wasn’t even the perpetrator in the rumor. If I was going to insult someone, I would have gone after the alleged offender. His non whiteness must have made him the obvious target.

  15. this is my take on it.

    1. “beliebers” “swifters” “one directioners” aka idiots were angry that Lorde supposedly called bieber or one direction ugly.

    2. “beliebers” checked out Lorde’s twitter page and notice she has a boyfriend that is not conventionally attractive yet also asian. they call him ugly and insult her for being with an asian.

imo, if the boyfriend was conventionally attractive while STILL being asian, he would’ve probably been mostly ignored besides a few ignorant asian insults.

this blew up because, Lorde allegedly insulted the attractiveness of bieber or one direction while her own boyfriend was not conventionally attractive. some of the twitter comments don’t even mention race, they call him an ostrich neck or just ugly (no mention of race).

now i also believe that subconsciously due to media images, most westerners associate physical unattractiveness with being asian. hence people calling her bf an ugly asian or using “asian” as an insult due to utter stupidity.

  16. Asianguy,

Whatever happened to your theory that White girls/non-Asian women can’t tell the difference between an ugly Asian dude and a goodlooking one?

Anyway, maybe Lorde shares your view, but from the tweet comments, it appears most of them do not.

  17. Reaction to seeing photo:
“So that’s how she looks.” (I hear the song everyday even on a hiphop/RnB radio station but I’ve never seen her or the video, that’s if there is even a music video.)

Since twitter is completely narcissistic and annoying the comments in the post are all I’m going to read. But yeah, I’m not shocked and a dumbass is as a dumbass does.

  18. @Eurasian Sensation

conventionally good looking? lol those are the same type of white kids i see in a local Safeway bagging groceries. this idea of beauty is ridiculous. i love the fact white dudes can up all the rules on who is ugly or not. that type of of crap is taught to the women by the white men. i love the fact that the white man has conveniently created all these negative stereotype regarding blacks and Asians. it has been around for generations. starting with teens and growing up knowing how awesome it is being “white”. damn..those Asians! they are ugly! nerdy! those blacks ..damn they are dumb and ugly and violent!
whites always have their go-to moves when they mock and ridicule non-whites. they have set up an great system for themselves so they can flex their superiority.

  19. in a perfect world you can stick Steven Yeun and John Cho in any of those boy bands and fit right in. they have the looks and boyish charms to fit right in. take out couple of those white dudes and no problem.

Daniel Dae Kim can compete with any white dude as an action hero. he has the rugged features and the physique.
if the world was filled with all white people it would be boring as hell. as humans we are all different, with different features and characteristics. there is no universal notion of beauty imo. and white people should not make up the rules and twist them as they please.

  20. Has this ever happened to a asian woman/white man couple where people have made a deal out of it. If anyone here is native to Asia has this ever happened to an asian girl celebrity there?

  21. ^This would be interesting to know.

Western expats often comment on their forums how silly the local women gush over not-so-attractive white men and how these same women tear down the actually-attractive (from the Westerners’ perspective) Asian women the white guys they are with. Would celebrity status on the Asian woman’s part change anything?

In this case, they tear down the Asian dude for being “ugly” (and Asian) and ostracize the white female celebrity.

  22. @ Jay:
Dunno about in Asia but in the West I’ve certainly noticed white women making derogatory comments about Asian women dating white guys; for example that he is only looking for a subservient geisha type, or that he must be a closeted pedophile since her petite body and small breasts is more “childlike”.
These sort of things of course reduce her to a “type” rather than an individual with a personality.

  23. This just lends credence to my theory that White dude power structure is more terrified of Asian dudes than anyone at the moment. This much outrage over a simple hipster couple is way out of proportion for it to be other than indication of massive buttpain. And yea, white girls and minorities including Asian guys and gals will carry the torch for their racist ideologies for the exact same reasons: fitting in, belonging to the winning side, comfort, and so on.

If you go on blogs and read comments from ladies dating Asian guys, they will say about their peers saying the same shit in groups but being curious/covetous when in person. I’ve experienced similar where in college a creepy girl stalked me for my last year there manufacturing reasons to talk to me but would hide (once literally in a bush with a feral cat) to avoid being SEEN talking to me. You can bet your bottom dollar that some of these girls are flickin’ their bean to that dude while watching anime while being racist on twitter.

  24. Asian guys in America cannot win the game of power, because loser Asian guys would be bashed and mocked, while AM winners (who happened to be a few) are seen as a threat, and put in their place.

Black guys, of course, have a different dynamic going for them, which seems harmless, compared to the perception of top notch Asian dudes and what they can do.

  25. @ FatCatAttack:
I don’t get how this is about the “white dude power structure” really; it’s teenagers and primarily teenage girls.
That said, I think this is a really good example of how the lack of Asian male representation in popular culture is really hurtful. A lot of these tweets go beyond the mere “he’s ugly”; there’s a sense of bewilderment that a girl who could probably have any guy of her choice, picked an Asian guy. And that is a symptom of them probably never seeing an Asian male portrayed as a desirable option in the movies and TV.

  26. @chr “Asian guys in America cannot win the game of power, because loser Asian guys would be bashed and mocked, while AM winners (who happened to be a few) are seen as a threat, and put in their place.” You’re one sad bitch.
MF like you need to die off and stop spreading your cancerous mindset.

  27. @ Eurasian Sensation:
Anyone living in America has had the influence of racism affect them. Teen girls didn’t recently invent those stereotypes, and they don’t decide who gets to be on TV. Those stereotypes and beliefs are meant to benefit white men. They don’t benefit women who are bullied into a reduced dating pool. I wouldn’t say it’s just a lack of representation either. You have movies/shows celebrating the death of Asian males (that White house movie) or mocking them (Hangover and Fox’s Dads). There’s representation, just a lot of it is deliberately shitty. And it’s not an accident either or a product of ignorance. This stuff is deliberately engineered by people in boardrooms to get that coveted white male demographic by designed the best butt hurt balm possible.

  28. ES,

The fact that many AMs fall under the average and below average range for a minority demographic, makes it hard for Asian males to be seen as “desirable”.

Ever heard of this, “you’re too hot for an Asian guy”?

  29. Ummm, and why this surprising?

As a grown-ass man, I find it highly unbecoming that other men are getting their panties in a twist because of what some vapid teenage twats tweeted on twitter. This is not how self-respecting men are supposed to react.

This incident does not bother me one bit because I do not beg for acceptance by the mainstream. My identity and sense of self does not hinge on what other people think, much less stupid American teenage girls. I’m surprised one of them even knew about Mao Zedong. I bet you more than half of them cannot even locate China on a map but they sure got plenty to say about Chinese this and that. I’m more upset that racist jokes about Asians haven’t changed much since I was in fourth grade, still the same tired stuff rehashed for the billionth time.

I’m more enraged at Asian guys more than anything else. I click on the link to the Jezebel site and sure enough there’s a long-ass comment by some Asian dweeb expressing his butthurt.

For me, racism against us is a given. I have accepted long ago that I will never be unconditionally accepted by the mainstream. That’s fine by me because I want no part of the mainstream either, which is a cesspool of all that is mediocre and ignorant. I’d rather be counter-cultural and defiant of the status quo than begging for acceptance by the majority, like most of you fools.

I wouldn’t worry about the pop singer and her Asian boyfriend. No publicity is bad publicity in social media world. I think we need more pop singers with Asian boyfriends inadvertently exposing the hypocrisy of our so-called diversity and post-racial society.

  30. I read some of his posts. He hates white
and encourage the female to dating blacks.
He’s not Asian that’s for sure. I wouldn’t be surprise
if him and the scumbag chr is the same.

  31. I don’t get this talk of them supposedly being a mismatched couple. She’s not much of a looker herself…

  32. @Kobukson
You’re talking about Baakus right? His post does come off as overly whiny. But hey, I always wonder why hasn’t Chr off him/herself already lol.

Looks like we’ve got an aware AF replying and once again, making it about AFs, not surprising there.

  33. Mainstream matters because vapid teenagers grow up to be adults and they don’t get any less stupid, in fact their stupidity tends to get more ingrained as those old dogs struggle to learn new tricks. Mainstream also matters because if the racism enters critical mass the deranged majority takes it out on the minority as seen over and over in history. The Hipster-esque holier than thou attitude makes poor protection from bombs and bullets.

  34. kobukson:

I wouldn’t worry about the pop singer and her Asian boyfriend. No publicity is bad publicity in social media world. I think we need more pop singers with Asian boyfriends inadvertently exposing the hypocrisy of our so-called diversity and post-racial society.

agreed. blueprint is simple for respect in america,
in the words of russell peters “Be a man”.

  35. “Some of those nasty comments in the Jezebel article were made by Asians. Yuck.”

    Yay for internalized racism?

  36. I’m glad this happened. Hopefully it’ll make people think about and confront their attitudes towards Asian. Nah.

  37. It is so rewarding to see more and more Asian men recognize the inherent benefits of discrimination, stereotyping / stereotype threat, and Western hegemony as the source, which explains rampant Anti-Asian male discrimination.

Society will not change just because we complain about discrimination. We need to come up with new, creative ways to address with Anti-Asian male racism on a larger scale. Loyalty-Abroad / Justified-Hypocrisy are just two of the possible ways to deal with unremitting Asian-male discrimination. Unyielding perseverance and violent, bloodthirsty ambition are still the keys to redemption, and possibly revenge.

  38. ‘I’d rather be counter-cultural and defiant of the status quo than begging for acceptance by the majority, like most of you fools.’

    Kobukson, is your spouse Asian?

  39. ‘Unyielding perseverance and violent, bloodthirsty ambition are still the keys to redemption, and possibly revenge. ‘

AA, its a great ideal, even dream. But not sure your average Asian male is capable of going to that extent to destroy western hegemony.

    Look at the facts:

    – most of us are raised by the FOB majority, so most will not relocate to the motherland due to our inherent non-risktaking nature( probably the best way of denying western hegemony of utilizing our ability for it’s end)

    – our nature is self-interest, inherent from FOBS, and as western born, coupled with western selfishness/capitalist desire, again this does not sit well with activism or doing anything socially altruistic.

-your average male, never mind Asian just wants to get by in life, not fight for a revolution or cause. Most just want the 2.5 kids, playboy lifestyle, or what have you. Given the bad media rap and excessive IR promoted amongst Asian women, this kind of thinking becomes even more prevalent, again over-emphasizing the need for self-interest for your average Asian male.

-Western born Asians are not challenging by nature. We are raised to be unambitious if anything.

    – add to the mix the inherently anti-Asian caste system we are born into in the west, the lack of a racial support system means we left ranting on blogs whilst going about our day jobs chasing whatever creature comfort dream we have.

    – add to the mix an inordinate amount of self-hate in Asians and white/black/brownlicking, due to our practical need to ‘get by’.
It’s practically impossible to figure out who your enemy or friend is, and as such in times of crisis, to do so, each time, is a waste of time

    – family conscience over social conscience

Aside from relocating to the motherland to pursue our normal direction in another country, not much can change in the west.

If change is going to happen, it’s going to happen from the FOB majority. Again, citing the Jimmy Kimmel example where FOBS campaigned against airing a kid’s opinion that the US should ‘kill everyone in China’. , looking back on that now, it was an activist movement made of self interest.

No western born Asian, even if they felt strongly about that, would take to the streets to organize a protest like that. FOB teamwork is the only way forward.

With increased immigration to the west, to me, it’s a given that FOBS should initiate an inter-Asian alliance anti racism support network to minimize and prevent future racial attacks.

If anything any activist-inclined western born AM individual would enlist to play a role in helping the facilitation of it.

And even if activism was an inbuilt genetic imperative within western born AM, it’s geographically impossible to rally collectively, at the same time. It’s something only online media can achieve, quickly, to record our collective disapproval.

  40. Indieking,

Whatever you just said is spot on. Did you take me posts and made them sound nicer so others won’t get as offended?

As early as the mid 90s, when I was a High School student, I began to hear AMs complain about AFs because they were dating WMs, and how Asian men are being sidetracked in the media. Then there was some positive discussions, whenever an AM was seen dating a WF, providing a spurt of optimism. Old sites like Goldsea.com became an outlet for such false optimism. But at the end of the day, nothing has changed, AMs are still dogs to Western Capitalism, and their passive nature has not changed and the IR Disparity remains at large. Fast forwarding 20 years, the cycle repeats.

The bottom line: Asian American Activism sounds like an oxymoron at best!

We should leave it at that.

  41. @Chr
Which is where I come in. We need to inflict some real damage, or at least move towards a direction in which we are giving others like ourselves alternatives to playing into the ‘Western Hegemony machine.’ Even if we cannot kill the beast, we need to stick a sharp pin into in now and then, hopefully one day causing it enough intrusion in hopes towards inducing a systemic infection. Look for avenues towards helping Asia, using America as a stepping stone. We know the West intimately — take this knowledge and use it for pure self ambition, self interest, bolstering our “flag” (from the metaphor I describe before about “flag people”). I recognize the need to live and thrive — Justified Hypocrisy was created for this purpose.

The world is cruel and willing to embrace hypocrisy. We do NOT live in a colorblind world, or even a just world. What justification could you possibly give for quotas on Asians in places of higher learning? We must adapt, and focusing our efforts to connect ourselves with the Asian community should be every AA universal next step.

  42. The one thing that has changed, during this cycle, is the economic rise of Asia. It is time that we use this to our advantage.

Pledge yourself against Western Hegemony, and dedicate yourselves to the creation of a multipolar world!!!

  43. AAA,

You seem to be the only AM on this board who came to the conclusion that NYC is the sole de facto city that represents the American Hegemonic presence.

I have spoken about how California and the West Coast are insignificant to Asian empowerment, and any other region in America doesn’t represent the country power base, simply because these are the regions where people get away from the status hungry elites of the Northeast, who hoard everything for themselves.

Have you ever noticed Whites in the Northeast, especially those in NYC are very protective of their status quo? That’s why I see a guy like Gary Locke being the governor of a podunk area such as Washington State, as a small achievement, and irrelevant in the grander scheme of things.

  44. You guys are delusional if you think the economic rise of China means anything. First of all thanks to the one child policy China is going to hit a massive demographics crisis in a generation. That, coupled with the corruption and the lack of high value added products means China’s economy will hit the middle income trap ad plateau in 20-30 years unless drastic reforms are taken.

More importantly, do you not realize that Asian nations are the biggest enablers of the white hegemony? Asians in Asia are the biggest white worshipers on the planet. Asian shopping malls are covered top to bottom in Western brands. American movies play in all the theaters and American music blares in the night clubs. Every shopping plaza has a McDonalds, KFC or Pizza Hut. Schools would rather hire a homeless white guy to teach English than a Harvard educated Asian. Fashion magazines either feature hapas or Asians who conform to Eurocentric standards of beauty. Did the Japanese economic miracle of the 80’s and explosion in popularity of Japanese anime/video games challenge white supremacy? No, it reinforced it. Full Metal Alchemist = white male protagonist. Resident Evil series= white male protagonist. Metal Gear Solid = white male protagonist. Legend of Zelda/Dragon Quest/Fire Emblem = western fantasy setting. Final Fantasy 7 and Naruto = blond haired, blue eyed protagonist. Hopefully I got my point across.

No, the answer is right here at home. As Bill O’Reilly said after Obama was re-elected, traditional (read: white) America is dying. In each election the white percentage of voter share declines by 2%. More white people are dying than being born in America today. 50% of children under 5 years old are ethnic minorities. By 2050, non-Hispanic whites will be down to less than 50% of the population, with hispanics at 30%, blacks at 13% and Asians at nearly 10%. Asians have now surpassed Hispanics as the fastest growing immigrant group in America. The era of White America is coming to a close, and it’s being replaced by a multicultural USA. The question is, will Asian American men step up and take our seat at the table, or will we settle for the scraps like we used to?

  45. red4ce,

I don’t agree with AAA’s assessment of going back to Asia or supporting the region directly.

You really have to find like-minded Asians, who really care and can really usher global change. That’s the hard part and nearly impossible.

  46. @chr

I believe change will happen, slowly but surely, in a 3 steps forward 2 steps back manner. The foundation of the current status quo is based on white supremacy. As it relates to Asian American men, the white hegemony is justified in the belief that Asian men cannot be good looking, creative, athletic, or have leadership skills. Every time we have a John Cho, Steven Yeun, Godfrey Gao, David Choe, Steve Aoki, Jeremy Lin, Kevin Tsujihara or Eric Shinseki, it chips away at the pillars of white supremacist belief. Yes the Ken Jeongs and Matthew Moys of the world are a step back, but they cannot invalidate what the men I mentioned in the previous sentence have already done.

  47. The description above, regarding how Asia is an enabler of Western hegemony: those are just isolated examples of Asia being interested in what the West has to offer.

    1) One can immerse oneself in Western culture, and still oppose Western hegemony. I myself am an example, as are many of the AA here. We understand and immerse ourselves in what the West has to offer, but we do not have to accept its economic or political dominance. I embrace the best of American culture, all while hating America.

    2) China’s products are vastly improving in scope and quality. China recently successfully placed a vehicle on the moon, do you not think they are capable of quality control should the market demand it? I anticipate soon the Chinese will be manufacturing planes.

    3) Employment of whites in ESL is an isolated niche — English is associated with white, so it is natural that the vastly ignorant public fall back on this visual safeguard of quality controlled tutelage.

    4) Japan’s anime/video game culture arose from the shadow of its defeat in WW2 — a reconstruction that was largely financed by America, and where Japan also had US military bases to garrison it. Its cultural does indeed white worship, but my point is that it is a cultural and political anomaly.

It is also clear that Japan’s society is on a path to nowhere — a graying population, and a cultural impact that is appears increasingly confined and limited in its scope. I find its culture interesting, but ultimately vestigal and maladaptive.

  48. @Chr
Sorry, but that is your loss.

Asia is undergoing an economic boom. Even fucking America recognizes this, hence its attempt to manage and exploit this rise through the creation of the TPP.
There are going to be HUGE opportunities in the future over there. Please keep your limited scope and vision to yourself, but hopefully others won’t be as short sighted as you all.

If anything, I think it is well established that AMERICA is where the limitations lie.

  49. AAA,

Really? Plenty of recent Chinese immigrants with wealth are here in the states.

China is such a great place!

I propose smart, talented AAs break all modes of thinking and traditions and do something different to challenge the status quo. But heading back to the motherland is not 1st priority.

  50. ‘I propose smart, talented AAs break all modes of thinking and traditions and do something different to challenge the status quo.’

    How, by dating a non-Asian?

  51. s worth noting that young white females are typically among the worst when absolute shitting on AMWF couples and how they ostracize their own who do date AMs. Are they really any better than the AFs who shit talk AMs?

Its one thing for an AM to be open to dating white females, nothing wrong with that, its quite another to be naturally attracted to essentially the identical twin sisters of racist white dudes who you don’t get to punch in the face.

    – See more at: http://www.bigwowo.com/2013/12/racist-tweets-against-pop-singers-asian-boyfriend/#sthash.tjtd9wLe.dpuf

This is precisely why I stopped dating white girls, even though they have been more receptive than Asian girls. Shave or cut the hair short and you pretty much have a female twin of a white dude.

My cousins are half white (Asian male father, white female mother), but they look almost full-white or latino-spanish with the exception of black hair. They used to viciously hate on me and I’ve seen the way they treat some full Asian, stereotypical looking kids at school.

And then after puberty when I ended up looking less stereotypical, they treated me very differently. Disgusting.

A lot of white girls might be open to dating Asian guys but are also racist at the same time. Such as only liking “half Asian” or “part Asian” guys or guys with features closer to the white beauty standard, and then going on to insult Asian guys who don’t look like their idealized version, using the same racist terms white guys use.

Like that one Scandinavian girl who said, “yeah I like you, but not those FOBS” and by “FOBs” she meant the stereotypical-Asian looking Asians with “stereotypical flat face” as if that is what Asians are “supposed” to look like, and as if the white beauty standard is the only beauty standard everyone in the world should adhere to.

    Asian women aren’t much better.

All women actually. All women are enamored with the white beauty standard. Recent hypermasculine portrayal of black guys also means black guys are about even with white guys in terms of desirability.

And at the end of the day, why would any white or even Asian girl want to date an Asian guy even if they “fit” the white beauty standard like Takeshi Kaneshiro or other dudes like him? Especially if there are white guys around?

Exactly. There is no reason that they would want to.

  52. Christ, you’re a real piece of work, man. A completely neurotic, self-absorbed Woody Allen act you are, minus any shred of humor. Go secluded in a monastery so you dont have to deal with the world.

  53. “A lot of white girls might be open to dating Asian guys but are also racist at the same time. Such as only liking “half Asian” or “part Asian” guys or guys with features closer to the white beauty standard, and then going on to insult Asian guys who don’t look like their idealized version, using the same racist terms white guys use.”

The motto: You’re too hot to be an Asian guy is a favorite line among women, including Asian women, when they encounter an Asian dude who doesn’t look like a dime in the dozen.

  54. They actually did a study, one with results similar not too different from the Columbia University Interracial Dating experiment, where Asian men with stereotypical Asian phenotypes (who happened to be the majority) were regarded as less attractive or less desirable. Guys with single fold eyelids, shallow eye sockets and a broad face, were seen as the least attractive by all women, including Asian women, who now view the Western Standard of beauty, as the de facto measure when it comes to judging men and their physical appearances.

  55. The experiment summarizes as this:

In essence, the more Asian looking a male was rated as being, the less attractive he was seen as being.

  56. 1. First thing to notice is that the study participants are mostly white, who are brought up with notions that am[s] are losers.

    2. What is this “prototypical” look. Who decides that?

    3. This finding threw me off – “Asian women: Phenotypic prototypicality not predictive of attractiveness”

I thought Asians were overall deemed more feminine in this study? Wouldn’t being more pp( feminine looking) make an af more attractive?

    I found this interesting

  57. I thought Asians were overall deemed more feminine in this study? Wouldn’t being more pp( feminine looking) make an af more attractive?

Yes, apparently the Asian phenotype looks good on AFs, but not on AMs from a Western viewpoint.

That link from Angry Asian Man shows that Asian dudes might be deemed as attractive in Asia because of familiarity and over presence, but in the West, Asian dudes are a small minority.

  58. Then why do you respond to my posts.

Ha! Apparently, the glut of guys who come to this blog are bothered by the IR disparity, just as many other AA websites littered throughout the internet, have been ceaselessly driven by this sole topic alone.

  59. No Chr, if you have noticed, I have never “responded” to your posts. Instead, I have only done the obvious, and repeatedly pointed out how you are full of shit. :D

Now don’t hate on the Godfrey Gao avatar. You only dropped his name two million times throughout this blog before I decided to give you what you want and put up the eye candy specifically for you. If it confronts you with uncomfortable questions and feelings then just ask, I’ll gladly change it.

    ROFLMAO

  60. Oh, by the way

the glut of guys who come to this blog are bothered by the IR disparity – See more at: http://www.bigwowo.com/2013/12/racist-tweets-against-pop-singers-asian-boyfriend/#comment-251176

No, it’s just the same old losers who need to start the same “conversations” with each other, saying the same things again and again and again, massaging each other to give the perception that they are sizeable when they’re really just the fringe, and desperate to appear more than what they are. Because you know why? If this were not the case they would post only in the cesspools they belong. :D

  61. And what makes you a winner here?

Oh, it must be that GG avatar you posted up a few weeks ago, after going through the carousel of nonsensical names on this blog.

  62. It’s the same thing with AFs and beauty standards in Asia, Chr. The more Asian she looks, the less attractive she’s perceived to be. Hence the desperate attempts to become more phenotypically white, which churns out sickly-looking AFs who haven’t seen the sun in decades.

White phenotypes are considered more feminine in East Asia.

  63. Hustt,

    That’s not really true.

Back in the days, white skin indicated nobility/wealth (who can stay indoors) while the tanned peasants worked the fields.

Large eyes (as far as I know) have always been desired. Half the Chinese population has double eye lids, 20-30% in Korea and Japan (I think). Although, it’s hard to tell if the eyelid surgery thing is influenced by the west or more due to the technology being available.

  64. Hustt, Except AFs with very typical Asian phenotypes still manage to get snag by some White loser.

  65. If she’s non aryan, it’s ok. If she is aryan, call the SS Waffen to nab that guy . Problem solved.

  66. @Jurgen,

“If she’s non aryan, it’s ok.” Nazi fan are you? To assuage your feelings, she is probably just European decent, not Iranian. So, not an Aryan, could be a half-breed Aryan at best as most Europeans are.

  67. Our latest troll might as well have named himself Juagen (抓根). It means “cock grabber” in Chinese and is more apt.
