Love this re-enactment. Saw it here. An attractive woman befriends a guy on the internet, gets him to strip, and then has her boyfriend blackmail him. That is some scary, scary stuff.
I’m surprised, though, that Singapore could have any crime at all. I like the cop at the end who says that extortion is punishable with imprisonment of not more than 7 years, and “with caning.” I would think that caning would be a big deterrent towards any crime. I would think that would be worse than prison.
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, Crime Watch!
I’ve been watching these for a couple months on an off now on YouTube. There was this one where this old lady would hug old men and steal their money. Scary stuff. I always thought the maid situation was the most major thing in Singapore.
Maybe the Singaporean government will post footage of the scamming couple getting a caning. That would probably get a ton of hits on youtube and scare any scammers of the future. We’ll save most of these rice chasers who probably fall for it as much as anyone.
in America kinky people pay good money to get caned!
“I would think that caning would be a big deterrent towards any crime. I would think that would be worse than prison”.
Cyberspace has enough Manti Te’os who for fall scams. I think Singapore should warn their population about being defrauded over the Internet via their mainstream media. It’s more productive and trustworthy for them to spend more time preventing criminals than whipping them.
“197% increase in only 14 years”. It seems like the government has either created more offenses to cane people for or more people are willing to forego the consequences, or perhaps both.
I’m reminded of that scene in Good Will Hunting when Will and his therapist are talking about beatings they got as kids. Will says his foster dad would put a stick, belt and a wrench on the table and told him to choose. Will went for the wrench each time. The therapist asks him why and Will responds, “Because fuck him.” I love that line. For me, it encapsulates something beautiful about the human spirit.
That was a great line, Kev!
