This is all sorts of awesome. Christianity has had a monopoly on American politics for far too long. Not that there is anything wrong with being Christian–within reasonable boundaries, of course, since there IS something wrong with being a fundamentalist Christian–but it’s great that we’re getting some different representation in our most powerful institutions.
Was reading about her and how her father a current senator who is adamant about being against gay marriage. She herself was against it as well earlier in her career but has since softened that stance.
According to this article, he switched from being a Republican to a Democrat.
