Did anyone see Strikeforce last night?  It seems they keep changing the distribution.  It was on CBS, and now it’s on Showtime.  Maybe the title fights go on cable?

Anyway, Nick Diaz had a fight against the Dream champion Marius Zaromskis, who calls himself the “Whitemare.”  The winner would become the new Strikeforce Champion.  If Zaromskis won, he would be the first man ever to hold championships from both a Japanese and an American MMA organization.

Luckily, Nick Diaz knocked out “the Whitemare” in the very first round.  After pushing him against the cage and delivering a brutal number of knees to the thigh, Diaz used his height advantage to pepper the Whitemare with punches until the Whitemare went down.

I haven’t followed the career of either Diaz or Zaromskis, but I know that I’d be a bit uncomfortable having an MMA champion who calls himself “the Whitemare.”  I realize the dude is from Lithuania, but still.  Good work, Nick Diaz.

When I first read the headline, I though, ’some dude beat up a white female horse?’

Then I realized he was playing on th word nightmare. I was not offended at first. The guy should realize his name sounds like a guest horse on a My Little Pony cartoon episode. Maybe he meant it that way . . .

My Little Pony? Haha. I can just imagine that guy saying, “Let’s play together.”
