Congratulations, Miss Asian Oregon 2009!

Congratulations to the 2009-2010 Miss Asian Oregon Royal Court!  The winners (with their titles and platforms) are:

Miss Luketan Somnasang, Miss Asian Oregon, Renewable Energy

Miss Gina Songkham, First Princess, Inspiring Young Asian Americans to Achieve

Miss Soohyun Park, Second Princess, Bridging Different Cultures

Luketan is an accountant with PGE, Gina is a college student, and Soohyun is a final year law student.  All are serious about using their voices to make an impact.   They did a phenomenal job presenting their ideas on the day of the competition, and it was truly amazing to see it all come together after so many weeks of preparation.

You can see Dan Lifkind’s video above.  I think it speaks for itself.  The women are passionate about their platforms, and they are seeking to make change in society through their involvement with Miss Asian Oregon.  As I mentioned in my short speech during the pageant (which I shall not post since I was far less eloquent than anyone else!), the crowning of the Royal Court is not an end but a beginning.  We now have a year to go forward and make things happen.
