Patrick Swayze, RIP

Oh my goodness.  Patrick Swayze died today at the age of 57 of pancreatic cancer.

Patrick, you were amazing in “Dirty Dancing.”  “Road House” was one of the best American martial arts movies of all time–it beat anything that Van Damme or Seagal ever made.  “Ghost” defined an era.  You were a stud among the women, and you still commanded respect among the men.  Rest in peace.

One thing I liked about “Road House” was that Swayze didn’t have to otherize us. Unlike Chuck, Steve, Jean-Claude, and just about every other White martial artist out there, he didn’t have to hire a crew of Asians, blacks, or Latinos to beat up.

Plus the philosophy was so solid. It was about a guy just looking for peace.

    RIP, Mr. Swayze.
