Just a few hours ago, we had our Thymos Five Year Anniversary. I forgot to bring my camera, so hopefully later I can post some of the pictures that others took. It was a great time. I am SO SO happy to know the people who make up Thymos!
Today, we’ve FINALLY hit our one year anniversary on this website too. bigWOWO is one year old. Thank you sooo much for making this work. Special thanks to those who have been following my blogging since the 44s and RiceDaddies. I’m so honored to be connected with you all.
Now is the time where a blogger is supposed to brag about how much traffic he’s gained in so little time. I’m supposed to say, “Wow, look at all these people who are interested in what I have to say!” I don’t know how good my traffic is (and to a certain extent, it doesn’t make that much of a difference), but in terms of the reader comments in the AA Blogosphere, I have some of the best commenters in the whole World Wide Web among all the Asian American sites. Seriously. I’ll stand behind that statement. I have readers who recommend books, suggest questions to ask about moral dilemmas, and read deeply into issues. I don’t think most other sites have that. My commenters are often other bloggers, and I appreciate all the wisdom you have shared with me over the past year.
What I like most about my commenters is that you all mix experience with theory. We have an older crowd here–a majority of us are in our late 20′s, 30′s, and 40′s, and because we have that depth of experience, we combine the best of theory and practicality.
Thank you from WOWO to WOWO, and I hope we can continue to share and learn over the upcoming year.

Happy birthday BigWoWo! I didn’t realize your blog was started after mine. That makes the Alpha Asian your big brother
Anyway, I agree: you have a far more articulate and thoughtful readership than most blogs, something you’ve salvaged from the demise of the 44′s.
Happy anniversary!
Awesome! I stumbled upon the 44′s, the WOWO site here, and a few others not too long ago. I have enjoyed seeing that the younger generations have taken to creating and crafting their voices online for the world to hear, to engage in discussion, debates, so that WE can define ourselves rather than let others define us while remaing silent. We need to be heard, and being one of the older farts to particpate in the discussions, I’m glad to see you younger folks raising awareness and consciousness. It has also been good to know that others have felt or have thought similar things as I have in regards to our Asian selves, about the struggles in our lives.
Keep up the good work, jaehwan! That goes for all of you who desire to share your experiences, to express your dreams and hopes. Do not be denied.
Congrats, jaehwan…
One year anniversary for a blog is a pretty good milestone considering the lifespan of some websites is measured in days or weeks, haha.
Keep blogging!
Yay! Congrats! Thanks for inviting me play int he sandbox.
Congratulations, J. Thank you for providing the platform to learn, share, and challenge each other.
Happy Birthday, BigWOWO!
Thanks, guys and gals! Thank you all for making this site what it is. The Alpha is my big brother, and all of us continue to unite in a common cause. I’m so happy to be a part of this!
A year goes by so quick, nice job keeping the pace of the posts pretty regular, here is to another good 365 days!
Thanks, Lingyai! Cheers to the next 365!
Congrats B.!
I feel like I’ve missed a lot. But keep it up! I still remember to stop by every few weeks or so.
