The King of Pop
Michael Jackson died today at the age of 50 from cardiac arrest. This one belongs here because of Michael’s extraordinary accomplishments in race relations with his music and dancing. Along with the Bee Gees, he was one of the very first pop star names that I ever heard. I was in LA at the time, and one of my third grade classmates lived within walking distance of Michael’s Encino home. He told me this fact within minutes of meeting me; people were proud just to be around him. Michael represented well, he changed the world, and as Al Sharpton said, “no controversy will erase the historic impact.” CNN describes it well:
With “Billie Jean” and “Beat It” — the latter with Eddie Van Halen’s scorching guitar solo — he was almost single-handedly responsible for getting videos by African-American artists on MTV and helped revitalize the moribund Top 40 format in the early 1980s.
When I watch his videos, I’m still amazed at what that guy could do on the dance floor. When he did his moonwalk, it looked like the floor was moving around him. He was out of this world.
Rest in peace.

I totally agree with you, and his heart was so tender, loving, kind, he gave so much to so many people and yet died of a broken heart. In many ways we all strive to be like Jesus, but if there is anyone close to being like Jesus I would say it is Michael Jackson, because he reached out to try and heal the world, gave so much of himself to people regardless of color and in many other ways showed so much love to people, I think the lies and the scandal truly broke his heart, well he’s in the bosom of the Lord now, Michael the New Archangel in charge of the of the Music Department in heaven. My heart goes out to his family and thanks to God and his parents for sharing such a wonderful person with the world, he was one of a kind and no one could ever replace him, he will be greatly missed. I Love you Michael!
I think it’s wonderful that the child molester finally got what was coming to him! ENJOY HELL, worthless piece of shit!
Michael Jackson will forever reign as a symbol of what you can get away with if you have enough money. The man was a pedophile, a child rapist. Like his contemporaries, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen and the Catholic Church, he spent the money he fleeced from the public to advance his pedophilia and cover up his crimes. And all the while, his adoring fans and media connections aided and abetted his escape from criminal prosecution.
Look into the mutant face of Michael Jackson, and if you see anything less than a ghoul, you need serious psychiatric help.
Look into the eyes of Michael Jackson, and if you see anything less than a predator, I fear for your children.
Michael Jackson was an amazing person! Even though he did some crazy stuff…he still an amazing person at heart! He was very loving and kind! I wish i could meet him! He was a legend! He been through alot and at the same time he was a loner! Maybe it was time for him to go. Now he is no longer suffering anymore! God Rest His Soul! Please God Forgive him when he enters in your heavenly kingdom, always now and ever onto ages of ages.Amen!
Rest In Peace..Michael Jackson..*THE KING OF POP*
Michael Jackson will be hard to top. It was his unbelievable fame that lead to all the insane publicity about him. I remember how they dogged him non-stop in the eighties. Jealousy can do such evil things. He wanted to buy the elephant man’s bones. Media had a field day. Had everyone believing he wanted them for some macabre reason. He simply wanted to give the man a respectful resting place away from the circus atmosphere. The fact that so many people with no evidence believe he was a child molester is so sad. For those of you shame on you that you would believe the lies of a woman even after it was proven all that she would go to to get money. She even tried to sue a security guard at a mall. We’re talking Michael Jackson here do any of you really believe that if he was a child molester their wouldn’t have been more victims lined up around the court house get real. He was denied a childhood by a father who pushed his kids towards perfection. He was a child at heart and Neverland was his way of trying to get the childhood he never had. In his unselfishness he extended his hand to many children. May GOD have mercy on his soul. Where man showed none. Rest In Peace Michael knowing you meant so much to so many.

Better to die a hero than to live to see yourself become the villain.
Rest in Peace, Michael. We didn’t just lose a man, we lost a WAY OF LIFE. He single-handedly changed music forever. He wasn’t stealing other people’s groove –like elvis did– he was created something unprecedented and made it last forever.
And nobody will ever top it. Usher, Omarion, Justin. Keep dreaming fellas.
The REAL “King” is dead. And he has no successor.
They say you will always remember where you were and what you were doing when someone of great importance dies.
Well I was sitting at my computer about to respond to a CNN “Cafferty file” question about taxes w regards to health care.
The comment section was closed, so I accessed their “contact” and submitted my comments there. The screen that came up next said “Breaking News” and reported that Michael Jackson had a cardiac arrest. I immediately switched my television channel to CNN and called my friend Darlene. She stumbled over her words in disbelief, shock and concern.
Shortly thereafter, CNN announced that Michael Jackson had passed. The phone calling to friends and family began … and there were mixed reactions, from outbursts of tears to denial and some totally heartbroken.
After speaking to some friends, a severe thunderstorm erupted in the area where I live, and reluctantly, I turned off my computer and television, though just in time, because the electrical power shortly after was knocked out.
The news of Michael’s death did not bring tears last night, just a strange feeling that I couldn’t put my finger on. I hadn’t thought about Michael in over a year or so and since I watch a lot of politically oriented news, I didn’t see any stories about him.
Later that evening (around 10:25pm), while I was on my cell phone talking to my Mom, the power was restored. When I turned on the television, the news media was still talking about Michael, showing his videos and playing his music. It was then that I truly got a sense of how deeply Michael Jackson was loved and had impacted the entire world.
Michael was bigger than life … yes, he was an icon.
This morning the tears flowed and I feel a great sense of loss.
Each morning I go through a routine … checking my website, blogs and emails, etc. etc. I don’t want to deal with any of that today. I simply want to share this day with Michael’s countless fans across the world, remembering the Michael Jackson we knew and loved and still love.
Words cannot adequately express what Michael Jackson, the multi-talented genius, innovative artist, and very shy and gracious man-child, means to me and many others.
I/we love you and you will be greatly missed. Thank you for leaving us a legacy of moving, captivating songs and visual artistry.
Farewell, … peace be with you.
We love the Iranian people and respect their democratic right to voice their opinions. There are so many talented, educated and earnest young Iranians who are full of hope and energy, and we pray for their safety and for the safety of all the Iranian people. We know that there are people who hold different views on life and in politics; but the one thing we know is most people crave freedom, peace and prosperity.
We cannot achieve peace and prosperity in isolation (not in this day and time). We ask the leaders of the world to come together to discuss their problems and their differences and to come to some positive compromise that will benefit all people.

Waking up, watching the news, hearing the radio while driving–I think Michael Jackson is one of those forces whose impact is understated until he’s gone. Seriously, his legacy is going to be bigger than Elvis. I would have never thought so while he was still living. Some other interviewee in another article said something about Michael being universal, and how there are very few people who have that universal appeal–the Beatles and Muhammed Ali were the two others he named. Even though some are angry with some of the issues surrounding Michael at the end of his life, it’s amazing how many lives he affected.
770AM radio talk show host Don Imus was discussing Michael Jackson with a Black preacherman on his radio show this morning. Imus asked an interesting question; he wanted to know how the preacherman felt about Michael Jackson’s cosmetic surgeries and his becoming more and more white over the years. The response was one of the most strangest conspiracy theories I’ve heard in a long time.
