Sanjay Gupta
Saw this on CNN. It looks like Sanjay Gupta will not be in the running for Surgeon General. He said that he wants to spend more time on his medical career and with his family.
I think he’d bring a lot of exposure to the post, and he could do a lot to promote public health. Still, I can’t say that I blame him for doing choosing to do something else at his age. He is really young, relatively speaking, and it probably makes more sense to spend more time on the ground to create his career. Surgeon General is usually a final post, rather than a stepping stone to greater things.
