It’s 1,000 years old! Yup, it’s been 1,000 years since Lady Murasaki Shikibu wrote “The Tale of Genji,” which was the world’s first novel. They were celebrating in Kyoto. There may be questions over exactly when Genji was written, but it’s around 1,000 years. Anyway, it’s close enough.
