If he beats Alves in convincing fashion, even if he does the point fighting techniques, I think people will get behind him. People need to see the subtleties of his technique. You know, I have a feeling the attitudes will start shifting in favor of Machida. He's even ranked in the top ten for several polls. However, Lyoto Machida would destroy any of these guys. I don't even think it would be close--he's just too technical. His karate is phenomenal, and his BJJ is also really good. However, I don't know if the UFC would ever give him a chance. He doesn't go for wild swinging punches or other risky maneuvers, and some people find this boring. I like Rampage and Vanderlei.
