The problem is that this topic is still broad and in order to discuss the whole thing, we'll have to break this off in volumes.

Thanks, All!

urB4N:

:) I can't wait until the next one when we do it right. We'll really open the box on that one.

Mama Nabi, we definitely want you on our future podcasts! Glad to hear that you're having a good time with Nahmja! I must say--that is some mighty cold weather you're experiencing! We're at 20 degrees above, and I'm complaining about the cold. And that's 34 degrees hotter than where you're at!

Papa2Hapa,

Good points! I agree with you. A lot of the battle is just coming up with the right vocabulary so that we all know what we're trying to discuss. Maybe we do need a new term.

I got some good feedback from Alpha, and I think the next time we will do a series of smaller podcasts with maybe just two or three guests each. This way, everyone gets a chance to talk...plus, it won't result in a 1.5 hour mp3! We could always do a subsequent roundtable in the future to summarize what we come up with.

I'm excited!

Has RiceDaddies ever done a podcast? We need to do an Asian fathers podcast one of these days.

For me, as a mid 30s Asian American male, I see the difficulty you may be having is the terminology you're using. Historically, I've seen the "gender divide" as an issue between the sexes from a political, cultural, and social perspective. So pehaps there is a need to come up with a new term to describe the feeling that Asian men may feel towards their female counterparts who do date white men. After all, we are talking about sexual discourse, are we not? Gender seems to be implying a more natural inclination, rather than a learned inclination. Good luck with your future podcasts.

I wish I could have been part of this "fail" podcast! Yes, there is a huge difference between AMs and AFs when it comes to the definition of gender divide. Some of the divide are also perpetuated and encouraged by the older generation, in my opinion, and I think we really have to work hard to break that cycle of division.
