McCain/Palin Infighting

Some news in the aftermath of the election is that the McCain and Palin camps have been fighting amongst themselves, passing blame over what went down on Tuesday night.  Palin is trying to downplay it, which is understandable given that it seems she has higher aspirations.

This result happens all the time.  Edwards and Kerry were furious at one another following their 2004 loss.  It’s understandable given the money and effort that go behind these campaigns.

Still, I think it’s unfair for the McCain camp to be angry at Palin.  A lot of people, both conservative and liberal, had doubts about Palin’s qualifications to be Vice President, let alone run a successful campaign.  Picking her was a gamble, as she was completely untested in most areas of both foreign and domestic policy.  McCain made a bad choice, and he needs to take responsibility for this unwise decision that he made.  No one should blame Palin.  It’s like taking a fish out of water and getting angry that it can’t walk.
