Biden-Palin Debate

…is going on right now.

6:05: Biden says that Obama has a four step plan on the bailout:

1. Oversight

2. Focus on Homeowners

3. Treat taxpayers like shareholders

4. Make sure CEOs don’t profit on this

6:07 Biden goes on attack to show McCain’s flip flop when he first said the economy was strong.

6:10: Palin is using the populist approach, saying that the American people are not at fault and that we need to say “Never again.”  I’m worried that this might work.  People might be dumb enough to fall for it.

6:11: Okay, Biden is focusing on the deregulation themes of John McCain’s career.  This could be good.

6:12: Palin changes the subject by talking about taxes, which has nothing to do with what the moderator asked.  She keeps using her annoying talk by saying, “You betcha.”

6:14: “The governor did not answer the question about deregulation.”  Yeahh Joe!!!  But again, she dodges it by saying she still wants to talk about taxes.

6:17: My goodness.  I can’t believe the patronizing hockey-mom-ish nonsense that Palin is dishing out.

6:18: “We don’t call that redistribution, we call that fairness.”  Go Joe!  He knows the policy so much.  He’s using John McCain’s own website against him.  Palin is just talking sound bytes.  Biden sounds much more intelligent than everyone else in this election, including Obama.

6:23: Why can’t Palin stay on subject?  She keeps on changing the topic.  They talk about deregulation, and she starts talking about taxes.  They talk about tax breaks for working people, and she talks about corporate taxes.  Stay on topic!

6:27: It’s so unbelievably clear that Palin doesn’t understand policy.  She’s like a cheerleader, a Tony Robbins who just sits back and offers empty flattery for the American people.  I absolutely hate the victim mentality that she’s bringing to the American people.

6:29: They’re talking about mortgages, and now Palin switches again to energy.  Stay the f#%k on topic!  America, please don’t fall for this nonsense!

6:31: “I don’t want to argue about the causes [of climate change].”  –Sarah Palin

Why not?

6:33: If you don’t understand the causes, it’s virtually impossible to come up with the solutions.”  Yeah Joe!!!

6:35 “Nucu-ler” –Palin.  I’ve been hearing that mispronunciation for eight years.  Don’t know how much more I can take.

6:40: I don’t think Palin knows how to answer questions.  Well, if we get a President Palin, she’d better hire a really good press secretary.

6:42: I’m finding myself tuning out when Palin talks.  She never says that’s not an attack; she never talks about policy.

6:55: Palin pulls a cheap ploy by saying that Obama-McCain can’t be pro-change since he’s pointing the finger at George W. Bush.  Logically, it makes no sense.  Knowing the past is the best way to know the future.

6:56: I’m going to go crazy if I keep hearing this “nu-cu-ler” nonsense.

6:58: “Facts matter.” –Joe Biden.  Thank you, Joe.  He says we spend more money in three weeks in Iraq than we’ve spend in 7.5 years in Afghanistan.  Thank you.

7:04: She says that it’s obviously she’s a Washington outsider and something along the lines of “I don’t see how you people in Washington keep flip flopping. Americans want straight talk.”  I can say that I’m embarrassed that a major party has put her on the stage.  She’s got to  be the dumbest person ever to be in a Presidential debate.  It’s not even lack of experience; it’s stupidity.  And I absolutely hate her patronizing attitude that “you’re a bad man from Washington.”  It’s sickening.  We should demand better.

7:09: “Get rid of the greed and corruption on Wall Street.”  –Palin.  How do you do this?  Well?  She says, “Government get out of my way.”  I guess we kind of got an answer on deregulation…

7:21: Biden breaks when talking about his family, how his wife and kids died, etc.  I’m wondering how the pundits will react to this.

7:24: “Let’s talk about the Maverick.”  Go Joe!!!  He goes on to say that McCain has not been a maverick on things that really matter to Americans.  Go Joe!!!

7:27: “Don’t question their motive.”  Amazing story, Joe.  I’m going to research the text of this part of the debate.  Amazing stories.

7:28: Palin, your policy is to force your staff to fire people who have personal disagreements with your family.

7:29: She says she likes answering tough questions.  Then why didn’t she answer questions?

7:31: She’s using the same old Bush fear tactics by saying that if we don’t vote McCain, we’re going to be telling our kids stories about freedom rather than them having freedom themselves.  Please, America, don’t fall for this!

7:32: Biden is very positive, very confident, and an excellent speaker.  I liked how he brought a story of his dad into it.  Check out the last few minutes of the footage on this debate–Biden was amazing, as amazing as I’ve ever seen.

End.
